The first task was to treat the hives with Oxalic Acid It's early enough in the season that there should be minimal brood, so it's a good time to blast 'em. My neighbor also has bees, so we do much of the work together.
The great news is that every hive we looked at had survived the Winter. Considering all the bad news about huge losses, and the fact that it was the coldest Winter in years, we were stoked!
